We all wash our hair, right?
Some feel the need to do this more often than others but do you ‘shampoo once or twice’?
Is it as simple as wet hair, lather your cleansing shampoo, rinse and go?
Not if you’re hoping to get the best from you hair and to keep those locks growing healthy. It’s crucial we cleanse our hair twice. even if your scalp is oily.
Trust us! With over 20 years in the industry we’ve seen a lot of hair and scalp types.
We’ve helped our wonderful clients in guiding them on how to get the best from their hair at home.

Cleansing twice isn’t a way to get you using more product. Using a gentle sulphate free cleanser during the first wash you’re not likely to get much of a lather.
The second wash gives much more of a creamy bubble. Always make sure you rinse thoroughly to clear any product away with warm water.
The right amount of cleanser acts like a mixer to the cocktail of oils (natural and product build up) and water that takes the excess from your hair and scalp.
The second cleanse lets the product get to work on the scalp.
Usually soothing, cleansing dead skin cells, unblocking pores so new hair can grow through. Here’s where it adds strength, moisture or protein.

It’s a cycle you see!
Not only to repeat twice on wash day, but between once and three times per week depending on your hair and scalp needs.
Much like a lot of chemicals we use to change or remove unwanted product, shampoo (alkali) can upset the pH balance of our hair and skin. If needed using an acid based conditioner prescribed for you will close your cleansed cuticles and detangle your hair to perfection.
Don’t forget to massage your scalp gently to stimulate new hair growth when you cleanse but look out our oily scalp friends, this stimulates the sebacous glands producing more oil too. You’re less liely to need a conditioner in this case.
